Luke 18:34 The disciples did not understand any of this. Its meaning was hidden from them, and they did not know what he was talking about.
How often do we read the bible and fail to understand what we have read? Or end up asking ourselves what it is that God wants to tell us?
The revelation of God’s word, can only be imparted to us through the Holy Spirit. If we don’t pray and ask God for the revelation, we may end up spending hours and hours reading, and gaining nothing.
In my experience, one has to pray prior to reading the bible. Pray and ask the Lord to reveal what it is he wants to tell you through His word, and to do so through the Holy Spirit. Then read, and meditate on what you have read. The revelation will come, and the message will be powerful!
Once we do this, the Bible comes alive in a supernatural way, and then reading the bible becomes an adventure instead of an exercise in obedience.
