Fathers Day

If we take the time to look at everyday we will be able to see that we learn new lessons daily.

Today is fathers day. I woke up early and my wife went out her way to make me feel special. Our children are grown up and live far from us, but Angie made up for it. She showered me with love and gratitude, and made feel like the best father on earth.

In church the sermon was based on fatherhood and the responsibility God has given every father. But what struck me was how God, our Heavenly Father, has always been there for me. How he has provided for me, listened to my cries when I messed up and begged for help, all the advice and guidance He continuously gives me, and not to mention the miracles He does daily.

I am ashamed to admit how I neglect to look at what my Heavenly does for me daily, and I apologise for taking Him for granted.

I think of my earthly dad today. Unfortunately the Lord came to fetch him almost seven years ago, and I miss him terribly. However I thank God for my dad, the lessons he taught me, and the example he was to all of his children. He loved my mom and his children without reserve, and whenever I think of him my first thought is of his love.
Thank you dad for the memories and thank you Lord for my wonderful dad.
